Join us for a quick overview of MasterTrack and to learn how to get started with the program!
Topics include how to:
See a complete list of MasterTrack users in your school by simply clicking on the Users tab in your menu bar. Here you can see which users have successfully activated their MasterTrack accounts and are up and running.
TIP: If any users missed their 14-day activation window, you can re-send them their activation email under the Users tab as well.
See a complete list of MasterTrack classes in your school by simply clicking on the Classes tab in your menu bar and selecting Overview. Select Data to see all MasterTrack Benchmark and Checkpoint data for each class.
Our MasterTrack schools begin by administering the Benchmark Assessment to every student to gather school wide baseline data. We recommend teachers administer just a few questions a day or a few pages a week to ensure seeing students' best work. Our Benchmark Assessments can be found in the Benchmarks tab on the MasterTrack menu bar. Most students will take their current grade level Benchmark assessment (which, at the beginning of the school year, will assess them on core skills from the previous grade level).
However, teachers can also choose to administer a Benchmark from a different grade level to select students, if appropriate. To do so, teachers can simply select and administer the Benchmark they feel would be more appropriate for particular students and edit each student's Benchmark level accordingly in the Manage Classes drop down menu.
Once teachers have scored their Benchmarks, they can enter the data by simply clicking on Enter Benchmark Data in the cycle graphic on their dashboard screen. This will take them to their Benchmark Scoresheet where they can simply click and enter their students' scores. Most teachers score and enter their Benchmark Data as they administer the assessment - entering their data a little bit at a time as they gather it.
TIP: Upload Benchmark Assessments into mark-up tools like Seesaw or Google Slides for distance learning.
Once teachers have identified priority learning goals, they will want to begin to set up their weekly Learning Groups to provide targeted instruction to support student learning needs. MasterTrack will build Learning Groups for them and they can always access our resources and coaching support to help along the way.
TIP: Most teachers set aside one day each week for these laser-targeted learning groups and focus on grade level scope and sequence the rest of the week. Teachers can meet with a MasterTrack Coach anytime to chat about best ways to implement and manage Learning Groups each week in the classroom.
After working with students on target skills in Learning Groups, teachers will want to follow up with a Checkpoint Assessment to check for improved understanding. To access our bank of Checkpoint Assessments, teachers will simply click on the Checkpoints tab along their MasterTrack menu bar and select Checkpoint Assessments. They can then select and administer the appropriate Checkpoint for the skill(s) they worked on.
Once they have administered and scored their weekly Checkpoint(s), they will click on Add New Checkpoint in the cycle graphic on their dashboard screen to enter their Checkpoint scores. This timely data will inform teachers' weekly MasterTrack Learning Groups.
TIP: Most teachers administer Checkpoints to ALL students (often as a quick entry /exit task) a few days AFTER instruction to ensure ALL students are retaining these foundational skills throughout the year.
Teachers will continue this weekly MasterTrack Acceleration Cycle to accelerate EVERY student’s math learning on each goal standard. Click on View School Progress to ensure that Checkpoint Assessments are being routinely administered and entered into MasterTrack.
To check growth, simply click on the Check Growth icon on your dashboard screen to generate Growth Reports. Here you can generate individual student, class wide, grade level, and school wide Growth Reports. As your teachers meet previous goals you can begin to identify new goal areas to continue to prioritize their learning recovery work as their student learning needs evolve.
TIP: Schedule a coaching session anytime you need support with setting goals for you or your teachers.
